Some IT Companies End the Work from Home Period, Ask Employees Return to Office

Some of the large IT companies that are asking employees to return back office are TCS, Wipro, HCL Tech, Nasscom, Infosys, Apple, Nagarro etc.

 

The Covid-19 pandemic posed major changes in the work culture across the globe. Since a year and more major companies have adopted the work from home module which has become the new normal. With the passing time, as vaccination drives are doing their part and the number of cases substantially decreasing, Some of the top corporations are now asking their employees to come back to office for the normal full time module or adopt the hybrid style of working which is a mix of both full time & work from home modules.

 

Wipro

Wipro Chairman Rishad Premji said its leaders will now return after 18 months of work from home amid the COVID-19 pandemic. In a tweet he said that about 55% of its employees have been fully vaccinated, and would work in a safe and socially distanced environment.

 

Tata Consultancy Services

TCS is all set to call back over 80 per cent of employees to return and work from office. The company notified that almost 90 per cent of its employees have been vaccinated.

 

Infosys

After TCS, another software company that is going to get back to pre-pandemic mode of working is Infosys is also planning to reopen its offices and getting the employees back to work from the office like other major companies. The company is ready to take responsibility of the safety of the 2.6 lakh employees.

 

HCL Tech

HCL Technologies Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Apparao V V said that currently, about 3 per cent of the employees in India are coming to the workplace, while others still are working from home. He added that HCL expects to vaccinate 100 per cent of its employees in the ongoing quarter. Currently, about 74% of its employees have been inoculated.

 

Nagarro

IT and digital product engineering firm Nagarro announced on a post via LinkedIn that it has re-opened its Gurgaon office for its employees abiding all Covid19 protocols.

 

Nasscom

Nasscom, an Indian non-governmental trade association and advocacy group reopened after 1.5 years of remote work and has adopted the hybrid work model. The company clarified that it follows strict covid protocols and will allow only less than 30 per cent occupancy in the office. Apart from this, all Covid19 protocols and vaccination in mind, are some of the stringent measures the company has taken for the safety of employees.

 

Apple

Apple is also set to open its offices for employees following the hybrid model. The company has said that its employees need to work for three days from the office. Apple CEO Tim Cook had already proposed the model back in June 2021.
